Still my favorite city in the world and my sixth trip proved this more and more! Not too much has changed (which is great), especially the beautiful pink sunsets along the Seine with the Eiffel Tower in the background. This was winter sale season so everything was on sale - great time to go. A lot less touristy at this time so no lines at Musee D'Orsay and much more time to eat, shop and explore.

Always Breathtaking |
Must Do's
1) Stay in the Marais- it's the fun chill area, much like Chelsea and Soho in NYC. I stayed at the Jardin du Marais hotel which is a cute and trendy hotel. Right next to an amazing Carrefour to stock up on local favorites and a great little restaurant Les Petites Canailles - try the sardines and toast!
|
Notre Dame is only a short walk away from the Marais |
2) Best new restaurants - Spring (quaint, modern, and delicious!) and Grazie (for a little Italian) and some good drinks at the bar
|
At the bar at Grazie in the Marais |
3) The falafel at L'As du Fallafel on 31 rue de Rosiers in the old Marais is worth the wait!
|
Lines for Falafel |
|
Head for the markets on the weekend, especially Le Marche des Enfants Rouge |
4) Rent a car and venture out to Thoiry for the night, a beautiful chateau hotel 1 hour west of Paris- perfect oasis with a great spa and golf course
5) Stock up on wine, cosmetics, boots, fashion magazines and anything else you can bring back (make sure the wine is bottled at the same winery - you'll see a green label on top marked "Recoltant"
