USA- New York City
We have called NYC home for over the last decade - with that comes many great memories and experiences and friends. Sharing some of the top spots, starting with my favorite, Central Park. I would not have survived here this long without the park!
The Essentials:
1) Central Park - the reservoir for runs, Poet's Alley for inspiration, the rambles for some adventure, Symphony in the park during summer, the new Whitney Museum, the LPQ in the middle for quiet breakfasts and quick coffee runs. My all time fav spot in the city!
2) Sandy Hook Beach - take the Seastreak ferry there for an amazing ride, view of the city, and one of the pretties beaches in the area.
3) Restaurants - too many good ones to list all but some favs include: Txikito (Spanish tapas in a random neighborhood but probably one of my favorites in the city and of all time!), L'Artusi, La Perla, Lupa, Waverly Inn, River Cafe, Bar Pitti, In Vino, Apizz, Gramercy Tavern, Maialino. And Two Boots Pizza of course and the thousands of other small amazing places like Pho Sure and stops at the Chelsea Marketplace. Wyeth Hotel in BK is also a personal wave, amongst the sea of great spots there too.
4) The ballet on a random weekday, museums like the MOMA any time, cooking classes at Miette Culinary Studio, backstage tour of Radio City, shopping in soho, union square farmer's market, yoga at Exhale Spa, a massage at Great Jones Spa, Oysters at the Grand Banks boat, Rooftop bars and so much more
5) The awesome Restoration Hardware outlet in Queens attached to the amazing Asian grocery store, don't forget the pork buns for breakfast
6) Explore, get lost, find something new, but always come back to Central Park for a deep breath in this ever-changing city. Best decision you will make your entire trip!
7) See the hidden original 1905 City Hall subway stop if you ride the 6 train past the last stop and do the U-Turn to go uptown after Brooklyn Bridge (if they let you, stay on!)
