Brooklyn is a quaint escape for anyone living in the city or just visiting - I highly recommend it as a break from Manhattan and to get some unique food, shopping and cultural experiences- and stunning views. Things slow down the perfect amount.

The Essentials:
Smith Street & Court Street south of Borough Hall are adorable for people watching, eating and shopping. I love the French bistros and Stinky Cheese grocer for some amazing Pimento Cheese. Also anywhere in DUMBO is pretty amazing. BK celebrates Bastille Day the right way too!

Markets: Brooklyn Flea market is so fun and so many great finds, including furniture and my favorite photos from shehitpausestudios - all surfer pictures from around the world, beautiful. For foodies, there is also Smorgasbourg which is fun and right by the water.

Farmer's Markets Everywhere |
Random & Fun: take the Ikea boat from Wall Street Pier 11 (free on weekends) to/from the Red Hook location for a beautiful boat tour and then easy bus or cab right into the Smith street area and beyond...
Must Do: Walk the Brooklyn Bridge in either direction, it's a stunning walk and view
