Argentina- Buenos Aires

Despite the fact we went over Christmas and everything was closed, we still had a great time - food & shopping were on the top of the list and a Buquebus boat ride to Uruguay for some sun made the entire trip! We stayed in a beautiful boutique hotel, Atempo Design Hotel in Hollywood in Buenos Aires - the room was a lofted apartment bigger than ours at home in NYC - great deal and location.

Food Essentials:
1) It's not a lie, the steak is amazing: La Cabrera was our favorite
2) Take a meat break, and try ceviche at the many great Peruvian restaurants
3) Fun bars & restaurants by the waterfront - a bit touristy, open even during Christmas!
4) Try Home for brunch - cute boutique hotel
5) The wine is the best I've ever had
Atempo Hotel- 2 story apartment

Scenic Essentials:
1) La Boca- cute colorful neighborhood, worth the trek
2) Comme Il Faut is the Manolo of Buenos Aires
Palermo Soho- great neighborhood
La Boca
3) La Recoleta - lovely neighborhood, see Evita's grave in the cemetery and go on a weekend for the market - you'll see salsa dancing on the street!
4) Just like NYC, many good strolling areas including Palermo Soho
