Traveling around the world and working doesn't leave you much time to update your blog - so here goes updating the last year or so, starting with Dubai in the UAE. Dubai is a great layover on any Emirates flight, and you only need a day or two to really get a solid sense of the place.
It's like landing on a different planet, a planet of opulence and extremes. It is stunning and magical all at once - MUST DOs:
- Drinks at Burj Al Arab - make reservations and go at sunset so you see the view
- Top of the Burj Khalifa and check out the mall at the base - just for fun
- Ski Dubai - skiing in the desert - environmentally not the best, but it's pretty cool
- Other than that lots of good restaurants, clubs, shopping, and amazing buildings all around
- We stayed at the Fairmont - good food, great bar below the hotel, nice views, recommend
