There is nothing more relaxing than taking a few day trips outside London into the English countryside. Winchester is a lovely and quick option with many great restaurants, inns, and local festivals. Great for winter or summer - while it can be rainy, it is still beautiful and relaxed. Visiting with friends here so really enjoy the local take and exploration.

The Essentials:
1) Hotels- Old Vine for a quaint inn or Winchester Hotel for a more practical approach.
2) Sites - Winchester Cathedral and downtown shops & stores - lots of love homegoods. King Arthur and his knights' round table which hangs in the Great Hall of Winchester Castle. Stonehenge is an hour away and definitely worth the visit - just ask for a rate ahead if taking a taxi to avoid any issues.

3) Restaurants - Loch Fyne Bar is great for lunch, Black Red White and Cafe Monde for breakfast, White Horse pub for dinner. Great town to just explore, can't go wrong!
